Singapore opens vaccinated travel lane with Thailand
The travel landscape has dramatically changed over the past two years. Given the current situation, countries have had to start implementing strict quarantine laws.
This past year, however, has shown the steady relaxation of quarantine requirements and the establishment of vaccinated travel lanes between nations.
On 14th December 2021, Singapore and Thailand will be kicking off their own vaccinated travel lane. This means that vaccinated travellers going between these two countries will not need to quarantine in their respective destinations.

Vaccinated travel lane between Thailand and Singapore starts on 14th December 2021
A vaccinated travel lane between Thailand and Singapore is scheduled to kick-off on 14th December 2021, as announced by the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) on 26th November 2021, as published by Channel News Asia.
The bilateral agreement means that fully vaccinated travellers coming to Singapore from Thailand will not need to quarantine upon arrival, and vice versa.
As of 1st November 2021, travellers coming into Thailand from Singapore would not need to undergo quarantine so long as they have been fully vaccinated by the inoculations approved by the Royal Thai Government.
Travel developments in Thailand and Singapore
This year, Thailand has been heavily focused on reopening schemes. The Phuket Sandbox initiative has been adopted in other tourist-dense regions like Koh Samui, Pattaya and Hua Hin.
Furthermore, Thailand has scrapped quarantine requirements for travellers coming from Singapore and 62 other countries as of 1st November 2021.
In the same announcement on 26th November 2021, Singapore stated they would begin VTLs with Fiji, Maldives, Cambodia, and Sri Lanka on 16th December 2021.
On 15th November 2021, Singapore announced they would begin vaccinated travel lanes with Turkey, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia and India, according to Channel News Asia.
The future of travelÂ
The steady decrease of quarantine requirements in different nations seems to suggest that travel may look a little more like it did before the situation.
We’re hopeful that travellers will soon be able to visit the places they’ve been waiting to head over to for the past two years, and that those in the tourism industry will see an uptick in their income from these new policies.
