Motivated by a personal issue

From the incident, Mrs. Piyanoot Chatthai, a 28-year-old cosmetic clinic staff was killed while her colleague was injured and now is at a hospital.

The deceased was the shooter’s ex-wife. They had been married to each other for over 10 years and have 1 child together. The pair got a divorce on 11th February this year.

Police speculated that the shooting was thus driven by a personal issue.

Charged with premeditated murder

Noomjareon has been charged with illegal possession of a weapon, carrying a gun in public, and premeditated murder. He has allegedly confessed to all charges.

He could face 15 years up to a lifetime in prison or the death penalty.

This is the 4th shocking public shooting in Thailand since January, after the Lopburi robbery and Terminal 21 Korat massacre.

We’re hoping that this sort of event won’t happen again. But should you witness anything like this in the future, dial these emergency police hotlines: 191, 1599, or 02-354-6958.
