Shots Heard Fired Near Chulalongkorn University In Bangkok, Police Conducting Search For Suspect

UPDATES:

10am: Police have identified the suspect as 44-year-old Ekkachai Charueksilp. It is said that he had an argument with his family prior the shooting, Khaosod English reports.

10.30am: The gunman is currently talking to his family. Police have also confirmed that nobody is hurt.

11am: Officers have arrested the suspect and taken him into custody at Pathumwan Police Station.


Just days after the news of the bloody mass shooting at Terminal 21 Korat, Thailand is in shockwaves again after police have reported a shooting in Bangkok near Chulalongkorn University this morning. This happened at around 4am on 14th February 2020.

Reports claim that officers are currently conducting a search for a ~40-year-old man who fired over 20 gunshots, heard by members of the public along Chula Soi 10 in Bangkok’s Pathumwan area.

Police also report that the gunman is currently in hiding along the alley of Chula Soi 10, with the area cordoned off for safety.

No casualties have been known as of yet.
