New travel measures in Thailand

In the light of COVID-19 pandemic, Thailand has announced a new measure at its immigration checkpoints at Suvarnabhumi Airport as an attempt to keep the situation under control.
Dr. Suthep Petchmark, health inspector-general, announced that travellers flying in from 4 high-risk countries – China, Iran, Italy, and South Korea – must declare their self-quarantine details to authorities.
This new measure requires visitors to fill in forms to provide the address of where they will conducting their 14-day mandatory self-quarantine. This is so officials can contact them or monitor them if necessary.

Failure to comply may lead to fine and/or imprisonment

Dr. Suthep said folks who fail or refuse to follow the new measure could face a fine of ฿20,000 and/or 1-year imprisonment.
Earlier this week, Thailand implemented regulations for fliers from these 4 countries to show a medical certificate proving they don’t have COVID-19 before boarding their flight to the country. Failure to do so may result in being denied entry into the aircrafts.
All travellers should comply with the new regulations and conduct self-quarantines accordingly for their own good and for the safety of others.
