Children’s Day in Thailand is an annual event where parents and teachers do something for their kids to put a smile on their faces. And while there are many promos and discounts for kiddos during this time, sometimes it takes a little bit more to touch their hearts.

Last week, Facebook user Vichada TN Changcharoen shared photos of an on-duty traffic police officer who was guiding students on the road in front of a primary school in the Nakhonnayok province.

This might have been a normal occurrence, except the officer had on funny costumes while doing so.

The officer on duty was none other than Tanit Bussabong, whom netizens were quick to realise was the same policeman who went viral last year for catching the boys who wore a cooking pot on their heads while riding their motorbike.

He also gifted them with helmets to ensure they would ride safely in the future, and this kind-hearted act touched the hearts of people.

This time, Officer Bussabong wanted to spread some cheer to the local children by donning funny costumes to make them laugh.

In an older interview with Dailynews, he mentioned that police officers should aim to be more relatable and open to youth in this day and age.

Other organisations across Thailand made sure to spread the love to the kiddos too. Trat Special Education Center in Muang District held a special event with fun games for special needs children to enjoy too.

Meanwhile at Yala Center Hospitals’ Pediatric unit, local policemen dropped by for a visit bearing presents like toys and stationery for hospitalised children who didn’t get to spend their time playing or having fun with friends.

All adults are just grown-up children. And even if we’re no longer kids, it’s important to allow ourselves to let loose and have fun every once in awhile. We hope these children had an amazing day, and big thanks to the grown-ups who made sure they had a good time too!
