No kayaking at Klong Ong Ang
UPDATE: Due to the spike of Covid-19 in December, the legendary Khlong Ong Ang Canal was closed, but has reopened to kayaking activities again on 5th March 2021.
Once a sight for sore eyes, Ong Ang Canal went full ugly-duckling-to-swan with its makeover in November that turned it into a beautiful overnight attraction. Part of making it more accessible included opening kayak tours, where visitors could cruise along and enjoy the riverside views.
But with Covid-19 looming over us once again, paddling has been put on pause indefinitely.

The temporary closure started today, 25th December. Governor Aswin Kwanmuang said that the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) made the decision in order to avoid the spread of Covid-19 through “shared paddles, kayaks, and life jackets”, shared The Nation.
Until the situation gets better, let’s abide by the rules so we can enjoy the fun BKK has to offer once again.
The total loop of the canal takes up to 30minutes to finish the whole round. Guests are able to queue up right at the Saphan Lek Pier until 8PM.
