The (real-life) Terminal

Just like Tom Hanks’ The Terminal, 3 Nigerian men have been stranded in Thailand’s Suvarnabhumi Airport since March when the COVID-19 pandemic hit the globe.

The men were reportedly on their transit when their flight got cancelled due to the lockdown. They had to wait for the situation to get better so the international air space can fully open again.

For Thailand, the incoming international flight ban has been extended until the end of June

The 3 guys also mentioned that while they were stranded here, they’ve been receiving help from local staff in the airport with food, drinks, and clothes.

One of the men playfully said that they’ve had so much instant noodles during their time there and would be glad to eat something else.

Besides these 3 men, some other passengers are also facing the same situation.

Good news is all of them are being taken care of by the Airports of Thailand (AOT) officers with daily meals and bedding until the situation improves.

This might be their longest layover yet, but it definitely won’t be the worst one thanks to our generous local staff.
