On 18th March 2020, Dr. Somsak Akhasilp from the Ministry of Public Health said that there will be more beds prepared in case Thailand enters stage 3.

As reported by Bangkok Post, 400 beds will be set in state hospitals, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration hospitals, university, army and private hospitals in Bangkok.

Dr. Somsak also said that Thailand is not yetstage 3 yet as new cases have not surpassed over 1,000 per day. As a result, the medical system is keeping up to date and is able to effectively support patients that require care and attention.

Even though Thailand hasn’t made any official announcements, the increasing case numbers show that it’s time to get ready and prepare ourselves against the virus.
