This Bangkok Sukiyaki Restaurant Now Has 1-Person Tables For Lone Wolf Diners

1-person seats at MK Restaurant

These days, many people love to eat out by themselves because it involves little to no hassle. For starters, we can eat whatever we want without worrying about anybody else. But oftentimes, we feel a bit guilty when taking up a huge table when we actually just need a small space.

Well, MK Restaurant, Thailand’s most famous sukiyaki restaurant, has just come up with a brilliant solution by designing tables for lone diners at its centralwOrld branch in Bangkok.

MK has been promoting itself as a family restaurant for years, so when Thai people think of MK, we often picture big groups of friends and family sharing a communal hotpot. This is low-key scary for some lone wolves who might want to enjoy a meal alone.

Eating out alone also didn’t use to be that common and some people might find it a bit weird to do so. But don’t worry, this practice has become pretty normal these days, especially among young people.

You can now get a sukiyaki set for one

It was a pleasant surprise when the restaurant launched its very first dining table for one person with a specially-designed personal hot pot.

The table also comes with a USB socket so diners can watch a show or read on their phones during their meals without having to worry about the battery running low – take my money!

Instead of browsing through the regular menu, customers will be given specially tailored single-serving choices of sukiyaki sets. This way, you won’t have to spend a lot of money on bigger sets that you probably won’t be able to finish.

Netizens react positively to new seating arrangements

After MK shared the news on their Facebook page last week, tons of netizens went crazy over this new “table for one” idea. Many even demanded that MK have this type of seating available nationwide.

Translation: This ticks all the boxes. They should have it in every branch.

Like many netizens, we certainly hope that MK will make this type of seat national-wide so that all the Thai lone wolves can dine happily.

If you’d like to pay the restaurant a visit, you can head over to Central World Bangkok (7th floor) for your very own hot pot for 1!
