Various events and activities like weddings and graduation ceremonies have been forced to get cancelled to prevent any increasing number of COVID-19 patients, and this means a student orientation for University is on the list.

However, this is a crucial part of Uni life that students can’t miss. So, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL) decided to host an online orientation to invite their freshmen students to explore the university in Minecraft instead.

Student orientation amid COVID-19

Minecraft is a game that allows players to widen their creativity to create their own 3D world, and it’s amazing to see it being adapted to help us in the real world.

Aside from promoting social distancing measures, this event also proves that we are now living in an age of technology where games don’t have to be used for entertainment purposes only.

Congratulations all first-year students – you are the very first generation with an online student orientation, on Minecraft no less!
