After cities like Pattaya, Patong, And Khon Kaen have cancelled Songkran festivities, Bangkok is following suit by scraping its Songkran party on Khao San Road.
This iconic party has been ongoing in the city for over 40 years, attracting swarms of both local and foreign party-goers to celebrate Thailand’s water festival each year in April.
President of the Khaosan Business Association, Piyabutr Jeewaramonaikul, also announced that the neighbouring communities of Bang Lumphu and Wisutkrasat will be cancelling their Songkran-related activities in light of the virus.
