Thailand’s sharing pantries are full of essentials and supplies, all topped by members of the public for each other.

This has led to many heartwarming stories across the country, and our hearts are even warmer after learning about a grandma who shared homemade desserts with her community.

77-year-old Joy Kampong sells Thai desserts at Non Daeng district in Nakhon Ratchasima province. So, she got an idea to cook desserts for her neighbours during COVID-19.

She divided her allowance received from the government to buy dessert ingredients and then invited her neighbours to cook together with her.

Grandma Joy makes around 50 pieces of yummy desserts every day, like Khao Tom Mud (Sticky rice with banana) and Kanom Sai Sai (Steamed coconut custard).

The desserts are then separated into batches to be put at different pantries in the neighbourhood.

Grandma Joy revealed that she just wants others to be full and happy when eating her desserts.

This proves to us that we don’t need to have much money or be rich in order to give back to others, but just have a heart that is willing to share.

We wish for Grandma Joy to stay healthy and happy – thank you for filling our tummies and warming our hearts!
