Earlier this week, Grab Holdings Inc. in Singapore confirmed that one of its employees had been tested positive for COVID-19. In the statement, Grab said “the employee tested positive on March 7 and is currently in hospital receiving treatment.”

Grab Singapore then immediately closed all levels of its Marina One offices.

According to Bangkok Post, the employee had previously visited Grab’s Bangkok office, which is located on the 19th floor of the UBC 2 building near Phrom Phong, between 5th and 6th March.

To ensure the safety of its employees, Grab has shut down both offices and ordered its employers to work from home for 5 days, from 9th to 13th March. The company then started deep cleaning and disinfecting the office space, including sanitising the lifts and the common areas.

Grab Thailand said those who had interacted with the infected employee would be tested for the virus and asked to self-quarantine themselves at home for 14 days.

Last Friday, Facebook Singapore closed its Marina One Office after one of its staff members was confirmed to have the virus.

The total number of COVID-19 infections in Singapore is 166, while Thailand has 59.

If you’re a Grab user, worry not. The infected employee was based in the corporate office and wasn’t a part of Grab partners and drivers. So, the customers can still feel at ease when using their services.
