This postman delivers more than just mail

During England’s lockdown due to the dire COVID-19 situation in the country, one postman went the extra mile to deliver laughter and joy, along with letters and parcels, to everyone’s doorstep.
Last week, 39-year-old postman Jon Matson from Boldon, a town in northeastern England, put a smile on everyone’s face by replacing his uniform with fun outfits, like a bright-red cheerleader costume while delivering mail.
Just wants to make people happy

“So while this virus [COVID-19] grips the world I still have to go to work and deliver post, today I [did] it in style and made a few people smile. That was the ultimate goal.” Said Mr. Matson in his Instagram post.

As of today, Mr. Matson still goes to work in different costumes and makes all his mail recipients laugh.
Luckily, he won’t be running out of costumes anytime soon – he has a bunch in his wardrobe as he’s a regular at Boxing Day Dip, a charity event that requires participants to swim in fancy costumes.
Community responded in a sweet way

Mr. Matson’s good intentions were met with just-as-sweet responses from the community, who showed their appreciation for his work and efforts to make them happy.
On his Instagram, he also posted pictures of several hand-written notes. One was from a 7-year-old Riley, thanking him for doing his job, while another came with a little bag of Skittles – how cute!
Bravo, Mr. Matson. You’re making people, not just in England, but around the world smile during this difficult time. Thank you, we really needed this!
