During the COVID-19 outbreak, people who have to leave their houses or display any symptoms have been encouraged to wear face masks. This had led to a high demand of masks, leading to unfavourable situations like companies reselling used masks and hoarders selling them for high prices.
Various companies have come together to support the public and healthcare professionals by offering free face masks and medical supplies. Now, the Thai government has planned to give out 10 million face masks for people in Bangkok, some perimeter provinces and specific groups working under the risk which will be delivered directly to each household.Â

5.6 million pieces will be sent to Bangkok households with 1 piece/person, starting in the Pomprap Sattru Phai and Samphanthawong districts. The other 50 districts in Bangkok will receive the face masks by May.Â
4.4 million more face masks will be delivered to surrounding provinces and high-risk areas in Thailand, as well as those having to work outdoors during this time like police officers, public transport drivers, and postmen.
During this time, it’s important to take the necessary safety precautions to keep ourselves and others safe.
