Thailand Launches ‘Entry Thailand’ Website To Help Tourists With Required Documents & Quarantine

Entry Thailand website

Thailand has been steadily moving towards reviving the tourism industry. Quarantine-free initiatives and vaccine travel lanes being put into place suggests that the nation is a couple steps closer towards a complete reopening.

However, the current situation doesn’t permit for pre-Covid travel norms just yet.

To help foreign visitors navigate the country’s requirements for entry and the different regulations, Thailand’s Tourism Ministry has launched “Entry Thailand”.

Here’s what we know about the platform.

Entry Thailand is a website that helps tourists navigate the travel process

The Ministry of Tourism launched Entry Thailand, a website to help foreigners navigate the required documents to enter the country, on 15th December 2021, according to Bangkok Post.

Entry Thailand details the entry requirements for travellers; including documents, vaccinations, insurance coverage.

The site also includes links to parties that have been incorporated into the entry process such as Thailand Pass and Morchana.

Visitors can also use the platform to find SHA+ accommodations and tax information.

Thailand expects up to 15 million tourists in 2022

The platform was launched to assist with the “pile of paperwork and several organisations tourists have to deal with”, said Ministry of Tourism and Sports Minister, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, reports Bangkok Post.

The official also noted the improvement of the Covid-19 situation in Thailand, and what that means for tourism. Continued recovery could encourage the nation to open borders between nearby countries like Malaysia, Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar.

In the event of such developments, Thailand should expect anywhere between eight to 15 million tourists in 2022.

Promising developments across Thailand’s tourism landscape

Over the past year, Thailand has had to navigate a series of obstacles with regards to the Covid-19 situation and travel. The rapid spread of the Delta variant was expected to place the tourism industry’s recovery on hold for a long while.

However, the past couple months showed the steady reopening of the nation.

We’re hopeful that with medical developments and continued cooperation towards preventing the worsening of the situation that travel may look a little more like pre-Covid times over the next year.
