Drive-in theatres in Bangkok

Many countries around the world, like Thailand, used to have drive-in cinemas back in the day. However, this form of entertainment lost its popularity around the 80s.
After the pandemic, people have started to enjoy drive-in cinemas again as it’s a perfect option to maintain social distancing while still having fun. Bangkok will be bringing it to life again from 2nd-5th July 2020.
Two biggest cinema operators will join a campaign

SF Cinema is teaming up with telco company CAT Telecom to bring the CAT drive-in cinema at Crystal Design Center (CDC)’s car park which can support around 80-100 cars.

They have selected the family-friendly animation Trolls World Tour to be the first show. Popcorn, drinks, and snacks are also on offer – it’ll be the same as enjoying at their branches.
Surprisingly, the company will also provide a portable air-conditioner for each car. So, you don’t need to keep your car engine on while watching the movies. The ticket price will be announced soon.

Another big player in the Thai movie scene, Major Cineplex, is also launching an offer during the same dates. They will be transforming the parking space at CentralFestival EastVille into a sky drive-in theatre – and it’s free!
