Thai train conductor helps grandma

Amid the gloomy mass shooting news in Thailand, this sweet story is like refreshing rain to us all.
Earlier this week, Miss Pimchanok Praisuwan shared a heartwarming story on Facebook after her 82-year-old mother, Mdm. Lengheang Homtuanlom, received some special treatment from Thai train conductors during their travels.

On 13th January 2020, Miss Pimchanok and her mother caught a Bangkok-bound train from Hat Yai station to Ban Pong in the Ratchaburi province. But her mother had difficulties getting off the train, so a train conductor came to the rescue and carried her to the platform.
Netizens were touched by these train conductors’ sweet gesture and kind words have been pouring into the comments section.

The train was too high for her to get off
Once the train had reached the destination, it stopped at the second rail track which was far away from the platform as it was in the middle. The gap between the wagon’s steps and the floor was also too high for Miss Pimchanok’s mother to jump down from.

Seeing her mom struggling, Miss Pimchanok headed to the station to ask the staff for help. But when she turned to check on her mother, a conductor was seen carrying her off the train while another was helping with the luggage.

“It’s just like taking care of my elders,” said the conductor

Mr. Yagariya Mamu, or Mamu, told Thaipbs that he didn’t look at what he did as a special duty. For him, it just felt like “taking care of [his] elders” and he gladly did it. His friend and colleague, Mr. Sugri Sani, also lent a hand with the luggage.
The sweetest part is after the news broke out, his daughter called him in excitement and said “you’ll have to carry me too when you get home” – aw, he definitely made his child proud.
Thanks to Mr. Mamu and his friend for their sweet act of kindness, our faith in humanity is restored again.
