Thailand has had zero local transmissions of COVID-19 for over 29 days, though there have been imported cases of Thais who have recently returned from other countries.

In July, Thailand will move on to the fifth phase of easing the lockdown and will allow bars and entertainment venues to reopen under precautions.

Adapting to a new normal

Phase 5 will be implemented on 1st July 2020, when bars and entertainment venues can reopen businesses again.

However, there are 22 precautions from the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration for both customers and service providers to follow.

The precautions are focused on social distancing and cleanliness. Each venue has to prepare temperature check-points and hand sanitisers for customers, manage a safe distance between tables of at least 2 metres and ensure workers are wearing face masks.

Live music is allowed, but singers and performers have to wear face shields.

For customers, dancing and shouting out are not permitted. Besides, a group of people more than five is not allowed too.

Soapy massage parlours and selected party spots where customers are mostly travellers such as in Pattaya and Phuket are still under discussion.

Enjoy a party with health concerns

The government and business owners will do their best to offer safe services and entertainment during this time. So, we all have to do our part to keep ourselves safe.

Wash your hands frequently when out and avoid sharing drinks and food with others.

Follow the rules and enjoy your “new normal” nightlife routines!
