New Year’s Eve celebrations in Bangkok

On 1st January, it’s practically obligatory to post an epic picture from New Year’s Eve parties with the caption “last year”.  With only two weeks left of 2020 it’s high time to plan for the countdown and of course, the perfect shot.

Opulence is a crucial element for these pictures, and we’ve found 9 lavish parties in Bangkok where you can take the best shots (both kinds) that will fit any budget.

1. Above 11’s White Party – rooftop Nikkei food and a great view of the skyline

Above 11, Peruvian-Japanese fusion restaurant in Nana, is hosting a White Party on the 31st. Dinner is served from 6pm onwards, but you can opt to skip it entirely and head straight to the party starting at 10pm.

In addition to watching the fireworks fly over Bangkok from the 33rd floor, there are two reasons to head over:

  1. Wearing white ensures that you’ll pop against the city background and vibrant drinks.
  2. You can get one of those drinks for free with the ฿1,500 entry fee.
