Translation: He [left us] at 6.30pm because of lung damage. He had already recovered from COVID-19 but his organs were destroyed. He fought it for almost 2 months.

Don’t worry about us. Love you so much.

Based on Matichon Online, Mr. Kumphol’s father was sent to Bamrasnaradura Infectious Diseases Institute on 4th Febuary 2020 after showing severe symptoms of the virus. It was also found that he was suffering from TB.

Around 3 weeks later, he was tested negative for COVID-19, but some organs were damaged. He then passed away on 23rd March 2020.

His children are now making the necessary arrangements for a Buddhist funeral ceremony. However, as reported from Bangkokbiznews, temples now refuse to host funerals due to the fear of COVID-19 spreading.

The infection cannot spread from the dead bodies if following the Precautions for Handling and Disposal of Dead Bodies

Also, the hospital hospitals have also taken the necessary measures to further protect and prepare the body. Anyway, there should be an explanation and instruction to the public too in order to confirm and ensure to them.

We are sorry to hear the news and hope Mr. Kumphol, as well as the families of the other victims, are well.

Keep up with the COVID-19 situation in Thailand:
