COVID-19 cases continue to rise
The novel coronavirus strikes Thailand hard. The Thaiger reported that Thailand saw 427 new cases on 22nd December.
Disease spreads across the nation, including the capital
The escalating number of COVID-19 cases have been linked to Samut Sakhon and other neighboring provinces. However, 5 of yesterday’s reported cases were found in Bangkok.

One of the infected was said to visit shops in Siam Square, as well as restaurants in the Krung Thonburi BTS Station. The aforementioned locations are now closed for 2 weeks.
Government implements safety protocols
While the Royal Thai Government is still deciding on a nation-wide cancellation of New Year’s festivities, many governors have already deemed those unsafe. Additionally, the province of Samut Songkhram is on lockdown for the next 2 weeks.
For your own safety, please remember to wear a mask, be mindful of high-touch surfaces and continue to wash your hands frequently.
The story is still developing, stay tuned for updates.
