111 new COVID-19 cases have been declared in Thailand by The Public Health Ministry, Bangkok Post reports. This makes the number of local infections in the country exceed 1,000 from 934 yesterday.
Of the 1,045 patients, 953 are undergoing treatments at hospitals – including 4 in critical condition – while 88 have since been discharged. The number of deaths remains at 4.
Dr Anupong Suchariyakul, a specialist at the Disease Control Department, shared that the surge in cases are due to previous patients that had visited entertainment venues, boxing stadiums, and religious ceremonies in Malaysia.
